WHAT: "Transformative Legislative Actions for a Just and Equitable Energy Transition”, a COP29 Energy Day event organized by the Parliamentarians for a Fossil-Free Future.

WHO: Bolivia Senator Cecilia Requena, Brazil MP Livia Duarte, Canada Senator Rosa Galvez, Egypt MP Sahar Albazar, Nepal MP Anjan Shakya, Tanzania MP Nusrat Hanja, and Uganda MP Biyika Lawrence Songa 

WHY: In the wake of the historic energy outcome at COP28 for countries to transition away from fossil fuels, triple up renewable energy, and double down on energy efficiency, this COP29 forum will bring together legislators from Africa, Asia, North America, and Latin America to share their experiences and insights in advancing a just and equitable transition to clean energy within their countries.
