This Parliamentary Forum, “Financing the Future: Aligning Finance with the Promise of the Paris Agreement”, is being organized by Parliamentarians for a Fossil-Free Future in cooperation with Rainforest Action Network and Asian Peoples’ Movement on Debt and Development. It will be held on September 21, 12:30-4 PM, at GH on the Park, New York.
The high-level event brings together influential parliamentarians, frontline leaders, UN officials, and fossil finance experts to amplify the urgent call to shift finance away from fossil fuels and toward a just, clean energy future.
It will shine a light on how financial institutions, especially Wall Street, fuel climate chaos and examine the severe impacts of fossil fuel expansion on frontline communities. It will also explore the role of parliamentarians to the road to fossil-free finance and discuss what it takes to realign financial flows with the goals of the Paris Agreement.
